KwakuBS, formally known as Michael Boateng; is a rapper, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur from Ghana in West Africa. KwakuBs claims he is vocal in his local language because he is about finding a bridge where he can link his listeners together. This has resulted in an eclectic array of lyrics fused in English, Twi, Patois, and Pidgin swimming in genres including but not limited to highlife, hip-hop, trap, reggae, dancehall, afrobeats and EDM.[1]
LIFE
[edit]KwakuBs hails from the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana and he was born to Mr. James Boateng, an ODADEE, a former Managing Director of Cadbury Ghana/Mondelez International, and Ghana's best farmer in 2018.[2] [3] He has Akosombo International Schoool to thank for his high school experience for that is where his musical career was birthed.
MUSICAL CAREER
[edit]KwakuBS began recording in high school and the music he creates is a reflection of the music he enjoys. He is inspired by music across various genres including afrobeat, trap, rock & hip hop. He’s known as a leading artiste of the trap scene in Ghana, thanks to his work with the artist collective, La Même Gang. His affinity for afrobeat can be described as a superpower as he rises in the ranks as a behemoth in Ghana's the Afro music category.[4]
