The World's Longest Putt (WLP) is a nationwide putting competition founded in 2023 that blends social play, fundraising, and high-stakes competition. Open to golfers of all skill levels, participants compete in local qualifiers, regional events, and finals held at the Baths of Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin.[1] The competition features a $10,000 purse, a shot at a $1 million putt, and ties to the Guinness World Record, most recently held by Jay Stocki (401.26 ft)[2] and eclipsed in 2024 by David Micheluzzi (416.16 ft)[3]

History

2023 WLP Finals - On September 25, 2023, the 2023 WLP Finals were held at The Baths at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin.[4] Finals showcased Midwest golfers competing for the title, with Mike Born securing the 2023 WLP Championship by putting it twice to within five feet of the final 400-foot pin.[5] Eight competitors visited Kohler, Wis., to participate in the 2023 World's Longest Putt Finals.[6] Jay Stocki, CEO, Commissioner, and one of the competitors sank the longest putt ever recorded.[7] The Baths at Blackwolf Run, which consists a 10-hole par-3 course and a two-acre putting course, which is where the world record-breaking moment went down.[8]

2024 WLP Finals - On September 21, 2024, the 2024 WLP Finals were again held at the Baths. Darrell Beall of Tampa, Florida was the new champion.[9]

The World's Longest Putt (WLP) is structured as a three-tiered competition designed to be accessible to golfers of all ages and skill levels. The format includes Qualifying Events, Regional Events, and Championship Finals.[16]
