Life
[edit]Kirkland was born and raised in Johnson County, Kansas, part of Kansas City. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Benedictine College, the latter of where he received a Bachelor's Degree in International Business.[1]
He spent his mid-twenties living in Denver, but moved to Brisbane, Australia for a year on a working visa. When he returned, he worked on a hemp farm in Longmont, Colorado. His times there are the basis of his debut memoir, Wolves of Hemp Street.[2]
Writing Career
[edit]In 2021, Kirkland moved back to Kansas City and began writing. He figured he had a story to tell about life on the hemp farm, thus his writing career began with Wolves. He chose the pen name, Floyd Wooderson.
Once 'Wolves' was released, he started working on a second memoir, When Obstacles Limit Freedom.
He has written for The Pitch (Kansas City), Helpful Living Magazine, and the blogging website, Medium.
He has been featured in Canvas Rebel and Westword.[3]
