No More Sad Refrains: The Anthology (2000) is a 2 CD compilation of recordings by English folk rock singer Sandy Denny originally released as a companion to the book No More Sad Refrains: The Life and Times of Sandy Denny by Clinton Heylin.[4] It includes recordings spanning about a decade while working as solo artist and as a member of the following groups: Fotheringay, Fairport Convention, and The Bunch.[5]
Critical reception
[edit]This CD compilation received a 4 1/2 star rating by allmusic reviewer Brett Hartenbach who said this album is a "fine retrospective of a terrific songwriter and what may well have been the most stunningly beautiful voice in British folk and pop."[5] Also, the Entertainment Weekly reviewer Scott Shinder gave this album a grade A rating.[3]
