Neohumanism (Neo-Humanism) is a holistic philosophical theory given by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar that redefines humanity and humanism, and in which universalism plays a central role. Its main source is his book "Liberation of Intellect: Neo-Humanism" published in 1982. The follower of Neohumanism is known as "Neohumanist"[1][2][3]
Main Idea
[edit]Humanism has spoken of the progress of mankind. But, neohumanism speaks of the harmony and development of human beings, including animals, birds, plants and all living and non-living things in the world. It promotes the interrelationship between spirituality, socialization and fraternity and criticizes bigotry, exploitation, subculture and so on. Neohumanism has a fundamental relationship with Sarkar's Progressive Utilization Theory (PROUT). Sarkar says – PROUT will give motivation and strength to eliminate all inequalities and artificial divisions. PROUT will find inspiration and conviction to move forward from Neohumanism – neohumanistic motivation, ideology and thought. It has an effect on the activities of Ananda Marga.[1][2][3][4]
