The Snowball Effect for Wikipedia editors is along the lines of the famous saying “Your past always has a way of coming back up.” All of your edits on Wikipedia, good or bad, define who you are on Wikipedia and no matter how much you believe you change, they always have a way of “coming back up”.
What is the snowball effect
[edit]So say you get into a dispute with an editor and neither of you can agree on the topic. The discussion goes into an Rfc and the result is a consensus in the other editors favor. You must accept the Rfc’s consensus vote, even though you don’t agree with it. Say a week later, you find yourself in a dispute with that same editor but on another topic. In the heat of the discussion, you decide to bring up the discussion with the other editor in an attempt to discredit them.
