  • Route and Features

The total length of the link road is approximately 6.7 kilometers, including a 4.4-kilometer elevated section constructed over hilly terrain and local roads.[1] It includes viaducts, an overbridge, underpasses, and other supporting infrastructure. The corridor is designed for uninterrupted vehicular movement and is expected to reduce travel time from NH-66 to the airport significantly.

  • Development

The project was developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model.[2] Construction began in 2022 and was completed ahead of schedule in 2024. The link road was officially inaugurated on 11 July 2024.

  • Purpose and Impact

The road is intended to facilitate better connectivity for domestic and international travelers using Manohar International Airport. It also supports cargo transport and is expected to reduce traffic congestion on local roads. The project is part of Goa’s broader efforts to improve tourism infrastructure and regional development.[3][4]
