The sources show that the blog belongs to a credible institution (Ashbrook), is hosted by a credible figure in the academic, conservative community (Peter Schramm, at Ashland University) and is cited by credible, external sources (Power Line, Family Research Coucil). That pretty much proves the claim that it is important to the conservative community - as four other people, as I count, have attested in the past two days (and the site doesn't even show up on google searches yet). At least, it is arguable that the blog is important and the references sufficient to warrant it's inclusion on wikipedia. Deletion of Internet Movie Firearms Database page

Hi, granted I'm still learning the ways of Wikipedia, but giving me at least an hour or so to check in and see that the page had been tagged for deletion would have nice just as a basic courtesy. I never even got the chance to add the "hang on" tag.

As for justification for the article, I cite this WP list - List of online databases - a list of over 100 similar sites. In my opinion, I had a better assembled and descriptive article than the majority of the articles on this list. How are these articles more notable than the one that I wrote? There are also 134 citations referencing the IMFDB in WP articles.

I recognize your User name and appreciate that you are one of the most experienced Wikipedians on the site, but how am I going to learn the correct ways and procedures of WP without instruction when I've asked for it? I asked De728631 (see talk page) for input and advice as to his objections for the article and there was no response. When I came back approximately hour later you had already deleted it.

I'm not angry or even annoyed, just confused at this point. So I am asking for the benefit of your experience to provide me with some insight as to what happened to my article and the overall process in the span of roughly 3 or 4 hours that lead to its deletion. Basically the article appeared to fail WP:WEB. There was little or no coverage of the entity and the article lacked verifiable reliable sources. FYI - Wikipedia cannot be used as a reference for an article. Fair enough, thank you for the feedback. I have so far (and yes I realize that I should have had these references originally) found two non-trivial, independent references to the website. One in American Rifleman magazine and a second from the Outdoor Channel network's television show Shooting USA. Would this in your opinion and by your standards appear to fulfill WP:WEB? Zeesolz, you should read Wikipedia's guidelines and policies more thoroughly before trying to recreate Mylai Tenner. More specifically, you need to show that Tenner meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines; you can do this by giving examples of websites, publications, or other reliable sources in which he has received in-depth coverage. The articles above are not "non-trivial", secondary references.

IMDB - A film's entry in the The Internet Movie Database can provide valuable information, including links to reviews, articles, and media references. A page in the database does not by itself establish the film's notability.

Amazon - "Trivial", only shows the movie was created and is for sale on Amazon.

Stan Goff - "Trivial", only mentions the film in passing.

I realize part of the issue here may be the term reliable sources. Of course "Interior Design" , "House Beautiful" and "Better Homes & Gardens" can be reliable sources; however, the concern I have is not only about the published source of the reference, but the substance of the references. Specifically, there is a difference in a one or two line quote from the individual and an article about the individual. In addition the references may be only primary in nature and the article may lack secondary sources. For example, an interview with the individual is a primary source, but an article about the individual is a secondary source - if someone is quoted in the WSJ or NYTimes it is considered trivial support. The issue here is not getting someone to review the article that has "interior design expertise", but rather being able to validate the substance of the references. ttonyb (talk) 17:32, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

G11 speedies

Hi. I have deleted Aotea souvenirs, but not for the reason you gave (WP:CSD#G11). That tag is only meant for pages in a promotional style, full of glowing adjectives and WP:PEACOCKery, but this was quite neutral and factual. There was no indication of importance, so I deleted it as A7. It may seem an unimportant difference, but it affects the message the newbie user gets, and after G11 he's liable to come back saying "but it was purely informational", when we have to say "Ah, but it's not notable, got you anyway." The name Ola-abaza was added also because in one of the article he published (links) he is identified as having the penname "Ola-abaza" but he does not shorten it on his own sites. Hi Ttony, my name is Victor Ruano (www.santasombra.com) and I am using Humanayo as my user name since wikipedia advices not to use your real name, I am not hiding or vandalizing anything. I am the director of the project El Cadaver Exquisito, all the material I am posting here has been produced, created, designed, written by my studio called Santasombra. Instead of sending me threatening emails to banned me from here, could you please direct me how to properly add this material here? I am not vandalizing my own page or wikipedia content, I am just not sure how to do this, and I thought this was the proper way. Since there are many regulations here it took my around 2 weeks to figure out how to properly upload the poster. I wrote the synopsis, and the press article which I published in mubi.com and my blog of el cadaver. I added the reference links and the categories which u removed? There are two issues with the text you were adding. First, the text was copyrighted material. Copyrighted material cannot be added to Wikipedia without permission. For non-owners of the text, one must follow the instructions in WP:PERMISSION. Since you have indicated you are the owner of the text you must donate the text to Wikipedia. I suggest you read the article closely and note the ramifications of the donation. The reason the copyright tag was added to your talk page was after the text was removed and the reason noted in the Edit summary, you re-added the text to the article.

The second issue is the text and format of the text is not encyclopedic in nature. The addition of full cast or thanks section is considered as fluff and does not add anything to the substance of the article. In addition, the format and substance of the references and categories was incorrect. I have added a Welcome message on your talk page to help you in your creation of the article. article has significant historical value. This article and Colonel Richard T. Curry has significance and relevance to Ohio Military History, he is the only Ohio National Guard Officer to have lead a Battalion (1-107th CAV) and a Brigade (37th IBCT) as a Commander into war (Iraq). He lead and conducted couter insurgency operations with 524 soldiers in Iraq in 2004-2005 and then commanded the largest single unit formation to go to war since WWII when he commanded the 37th IBCT in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), consisting of over 2528 soldiers. He was also the first commander of the 37th IBCT when it reorganized from the 37th Armor Brigade (he was also the last commander of that organization). The brigade accomplished more than any other Brigade size unit from the Ohio National Guard and is the largest formation Ohio has in it's military ranks (3700 soldiers). COL Curry is a notable commander and historical Ohio military figure due to being the only Ohio National Guard Officer to Command a large formation in combat since it was accomplished by MG R. Beightler during WWII wity the 37th Infantry Division. Wikipedia is a perfect place to have this information so that it can be built upon and kept for historical data research in the future. COL Curry is a prominate figure in Ohio Military History based on his accomplishments prior to retiring in 2010.

Punk Rock 101 (Music Event)

I think the page for Punk Rock 101 (Music Event) should not be deleted. There is enough reference presented to prove the show exists. The event is hugely popular in our city and I think it's time it deserves the recognition it deserves. There is not much press coverage on the event as it came to an end in 2005 but is now re-established and will re-launch on 28th April 2011 - reference provided for this also. I see you made another notification about this article being deleted. I am working to improve the article and I feel now you just don't give me a chance to do that, if you with almost every edit or change I make refer as wrong. In that way it is impossible to improve the article, because someone decides it is wrong anyway! That is not a very nice welcome to new contributors like myself. Ttonyb1, please come and read what that admin Jay writes!! It is totally absurd! He refures to read what I wrote!! He ask me to..demonstrate that Iorio was born in 1971 and that he lives in Bari!!!! He did not read anything about what I wrote about NASA ADS, bibliometry, and so on! He still asks me to prove those information with reliable secondary sources!!!! I also noticed that you re-removed the Obama edit. I read the guideline and its hard to argue with you. You seem to have made both reverts within the guideline and its hard to find fault in that. I am still sitting here scratching my head as to why the guideline is worded the way it is. It seems to just say Don't do it, and doen't appear to give a rationale as to why not. I think I will open a discussion at the guidelines talk page and see if we can't get some sort of clarification on that part of the guideline. Feel free to open a discussion, however, be advised there has been a lot of discussion about country centric events and the wisdom of adding them to the recent years articles. You might want to review the archives for further info. Sorry, I cannot point you to any specific discussions and it might take a bit to find the specific arguments against. I have to agree that not adding is probably the way to go, there are country specific recent years articles that these items are generally added to. No Left Turns

There was no consensus to merge "No Left Turns" with "Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs" There were 2 posts to keep, 1 to merge, 1 to delete and 1 no committal. I suggest you reread Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/No Left Turns and pay attention to the result. The admin closed the AfD with the statement, "The result was merge to Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs. The consensus is that the blog is not notable in its own right, but I feel that the content could be usefully merged with the parent organisation." After rereading Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/No Left Turns I see that it wasn't you that wrote the result, but you are the one that made the edits to effect the merge. There are exactly four people that made comments, two asserted that it was not notable and two that it should be kept. Two out of four is not a consensus, it's not even a majority. Consensus decision-making is a group decision making process that seeks not only the agreement of most participants but also the resolution or mitigation of minority objections. Keeping the article would be a consensus because that decision could be easily reversed in the future after the article's notability is better established. So in reality you were calling the admin that closed the AfD "arbitrary and capricious." What you perhaps fail to recognize is AfDs are not votes in the traditional sense – it is not a function of having more Keep votes than Delete votes. Admins look at the substance of the comments associated with the !votes and can ignore/minimize !votes lacking substance or not supported by valid arguments. I cannot not speak for the admin that closed the AfD, but I noted although you gave a number or reasons why you thought the article should be kept, you ignored the question how does the article meet the criteria in WP:WEB and you failed to supply any support to establish Wikipedia based notability. The other Keep !vote also failed to provide support (using Wikipedia criteria) as to why the article meets Wikipedia based notability. You should really be discussing this with the Admin that closed the AfD. I would suggest you may want to tone down the "arbitrary and capricious" comment.

I actually think the merge solution is fair. It allows for the article to forward without deletion. If you feel the deletion is unfair you can request a Deletion Review. ttonyb (talk) 00:59, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

I notice that you seem to like To Kill A Mockingbird quotes. I have one for you: shoot all the bluejays you want, but remember, it's a sin to kill a mockingbird. Why did they say it was a sin? Because mockingbirds don't harm anyone, they just make pretty music.

On a slightly related note, the page Chuck Norris's beard was a redirect and could not have taken up much server space. Like I said, it would only have generated hits from the crazy chuck Norris fans. It hurt no one, and could only have gotten Wikipedia more hits. You, my friend, have just killed a mockingbird.

Don't need to check the quote, I am very familiar with it and its application. What you are missing is equating your article to "beautiful music" is sinful. The purpose of Wikipedia is not to generate hits from anyone, crazy or not. Sinful - just slightly over the top. I admit, the comparison wasn't the greatest. My article was definitely not beautiful music. The point I was trying to get across was that even with limited good, the article wasn't doing much bad. You're right about there being no need for inclusion; I got bored, so I wrote an article that had no application. Thanks for staying polite - I've met some guys at Wikia who would probably b debating my sexuality by now when I was improving their stuff instead of what I did here.
