Adela Ben-Yakar is a Harry L. Kent, Jr. Professorship in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She did her PhD at Stanford University in 2000 with Prof. Ronald K Hanson. Her PhD thesis was titled "Experimental investigation of mixing and ignition of transverse jets in supersonic crossflows".
