Kaplan Award

The Kaplan Award is an Israeli award given for streamlining and increasing work productivity. The award was founded in 1954 and named after Eliezer Kaplan, the first Minister of Finance of the State of Israel. The winners of the award were determined by a committee headed by the director of the Institute for Labor Productivity and Production, and the award was presented to the winners by the Minister of Labor. For many years the award was given as part of the production productivity week.

  • Lt. Col. Yosef Rom Romanovski of the Navy Shipyard for the first major renovation of a submarine in Israel and computerization in the renovation process.
  • Dror Ben-David on the development of IBM systems.
  • Mordechai Kikyon, for the establishment of Rafael's computer center.
  • 1957 - Hammat Armatures and Castings for increasing productivity in the nail department.[1]
  • 1959 - Edward D. Mitchell for for outstanding achievement in behalf of Israel Bonds.[2]
