Pam Spaulding (born July 8, 1963) is the editor and publisher of the blog Pam's House Blend, which focused on progressive politics with an emphasis on issues relevant to women and the LGBT and African-American communities. She was the first blogger honored by the Women's Media Center for online journalism [1] . She is a board member of the Institute for Southern Studies [2] and writes a monthly column for the Durham (North Carolina) News [citation needed]. She has also contributed to CNN [citation needed], The Huffington Post [citation needed] and Salon.com [citation needed].

Life and career

Spaulding attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City from 1977 to 1981.[3] She earned a B.A. in Media Studies in 1985[4] from Fordham University and currently works as an Information Technology manager at Duke University Press.[5]

On July 1, 2004, Spaulding legally married her partner Kate in Vancouver, British Columbia.[6]

The Blend received awards for Best LGBT blog from The Weblog Awards in 2005[7] and 2006.[8]

The blog ceased updating after a final post on July 1, 2013.[9]
