Evaluate the article

[edit]

The lead section of the article gives a good outline of what soil is, what is does, and why it's important, which are good things to cover in the introduction; it also gives a brief overview of what is written later in the article. Then moving into the content of the article; the major sections of the article were mentioned in the lead section and they are all relevant to soil. The content is pretty up to date, and is sourced well. Soil is a pretty neutral topic, so there aren't undertones or biases to the article, and it is written in a scientific way which also helps with the neutral tone. This article is well sourced, all of the topics have hyperlinks and it looks like many people have worked on this article which adds to its credibility, however there is a part of the article that goes into the chemistry of the soil and looks in depth so if I were looking in to this article a little more I might look into who wrote that section and fact check that section a little more. The talk section is almost entirely people fact checking the content or the tables, which is a good sign. The images also fit the article well, and they all have appropriate captions as well. Overall, this article does look neutral and professional and seems to check all of the boxes for. good article, again, the only thing that would concern me about the article is the chemistry section, but there have been enough people on the talk page that it doesn't' concern me too much.
