The purpose of this poll is to discern the general opinion of the new policy regarding the #wikipedia IRC channel. The policy's opening statement is that "#wikipedia is Wikipedia’s central, on-topic IRC channel." It goes on to explain that extensive off-topic discussion is "not permitted." Such discussion is requested to be moved to #wikipedia-social.
Please vote only once, for or against the new policy. Votes from past, prospective or present users of the #wikipedia IRC channel are preferred.

I disagree with this proposed new policy Talk to symode09's or How's my driving? 10:04, 17 June 2007 (UTC)- I'd prefer an on-and-off-topic channel where I can find help to an on-topic channel which no one bothers to read due to the lack of stimulating conversation. - Vague | Rant 10:20, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
