Eddy Gordo Articles

[edit]

It sort of calls him a button masher character but indirectly.

http://www.techtree.com/India/Reviews/Lets_Fight/551-74432-699-2.html Tekken Tekken was amongst the first 3d fighting games, it made a strong first impression. Like all other fighting games, Tekken featured strong, head smashing action. This game was visually better than the rest, it was smoother as well. The battles in Tekken could get over in a matter of seconds, if you knew the right combos.

What differentiated Tekken from the rest is the fact that all the fighting styles used in the game were actual martial arts. This made the game very popular with the martial arts community, since the game had a higher level of realism than the others. Jin is the most popular character from Tekken, so is Law, Nina, and Eddy. Tekken has lived up to its reputation with some great sequels over the years. Up coming titles include a title on the PS 3, going by the series reputation this will be a game to look forward to. King of Fighters KOF was the ultimate fighting experience. KOF featured the most blazing action and intense combos. This game provided you with some great action packed hours of gameplay. The game featured characters from another popular franchise called Fatal Fury. The game was very popular and released a sequel every year. The series gained popularity due to the fact that even though the controls were very simple the resulting combos were extraordinary. One could inflict major damage within a few seconds in the most amazing display of fighting. The game features some great level and character designs, unique fighting styles, and superb power up combos. The game required more skill to master than its counterparts, but once you get the hang of it this was a treat to play. A new version of KOF will be releasing in a few months, and going by the standards it has already set, we are looking forward to a great game. These aren't the only games in the genre, there are a few more. I am sure there are quite a few that are occupying the top slot on your favorites list. Go ahead; add them here, guys.....

More button mashing

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Review-Tatsunoko-vs-Capcom-Ultimate-All-Stars-22874.html Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 only had four attack buttons—two punches and two kicks, plus, two other buttons to call upon your teammates—so in a way, MvC2 was a dumbing down of the original MvC, which used all six buttons for attacking. But Tatsunoko vs. Capcom takes it a step further by having only THREE attack buttons this time, and this takes some SERIOUS getting used to if you’re accustomed to playing any of the older Capcom vs. titles. I understand what Capcom was trying do here with this Wii-exclusive game—they were trying to maintain the keep-it-simple, stupid, mentality that the Wii thrives on by making it so accessible that pretty much anybody could pick it up and play it. But for a grizzled, fighting game veteran like myself, this title is just TOO dumbed down for my tastes. Playing against my brother, who is no Street Fighter veteran by any stretch of the imagination, he must have beaten me about half the time we played together, and that just shouldn’t be, as I NEVER lose to an amateur with these vs. titles. I’ve been playing too long for any of that crap.

In a way, you know what this game reminds me of? It kind of reminds me of playing the almost perfectly balanced Tekken 3 and then going up against an Eddy Gordo or Hwoarang player, as they just mash the buttons and somehow find their way to victory. Note: Fighting games should NOT be delegated to button mashing. They should be delegated to skill and skill alone, and any game where a player who has never played the game before can just mash all the buttons and still be victorious represents an inferior product to me, and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is inferior to the other Capcom vs. titles in every sort of way, no question about it.
