![]() | Evaluate an article
Complete your article evaluation below. Here are the key aspects to consider: Lead sectionA good lead section defines the topic and provides a concise overview. A reader who just wants to identify the topic can read the first sentence. A reader who wants a very brief overview of the most important things about it can read the first paragraph. A reader who wants a quick overview can read the whole lead section.
ContentA good Wikipedia article should cover all the important aspects of a topic, without putting too much weight on one part while neglecting another.
Tone and BalanceWikipedia articles should be written from a neutral point of view; if there are substantial differences of interpretation or controversies among published, reliable sources, those views should be described as fairly as possible.
Sources and ReferencesA Wikipedia article should be based on the best sources available for the topic at hand. When possible, this means academic and peer-reviewed publications or scholarly books.
Organization and writing qualityThe writing should be clear and professional, the content should be organized sensibly into sections.

Talk page discussionThe article's talk page — and any discussions among other Wikipedia editors that have been taking place there — can be a useful window into the state of an article, and might help you focus on important aspects that you didn't think of.
Overall impressions
Examples of good feedbackA good article evaluation can take a number of forms. The most essential things are to clearly identify the biggest shortcomings, and provide specific guidance on how the article can be improved. |
Which article are you evaluating?
[edit]Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?
[edit](Briefly explain why you chose it, why it matters, and what your preliminary impression of it was.)
I chose this article because I will be conducting research and completing updates to this article for a class project. It is important that this article be updated so that residents of Cleveland can be more informed about their current mayor including his history and actions he has taken as Mayor of Cleveland.
My first impression is that the article can be improved with additional information about his Mr. Bibb's early career, his political priorities as mayor, and other actions he has taken.

The article has a sufficient lead section, clearly introducing the article's topic and including relevant information that is further detailed in later sections. The lead is concise, but could potentially be built up to better preview the different sections of the article while still being clear and containing relevant information.
The content of the article is generally relevant to the topic, Mayor Bibb. Some sections have seen more attention than others, particularly the election section. I would like to see other sections further developed, including the Career and Tenure sections. I also question the inclusion of mention about pro-Palestinian protestors appearing at a city council meeting as I am not sure it is entirely relevant without further context or inclusion of the mayor's response.
Overall, the tone and balance of the article is neutral as it should be for this platform. Sources come from generally neutral and informed sources such as the Cleveland Plain Dealer. One source used is the city/mayor website, which may be questionable but the information gathered from it is presented in an unbiased way and can be verified through other sources.
The article is organized well, but each section needs to be further developed. My only concern with writing is again the inclusion of the Israel/Palestine conflict without further context related to the mayor. There are no discussions on the Talk page and it has been rated as Start-Class. Overall, my impression is that the article has a base to start our work from in conducting our research and improving it.
