Henry Ford “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business”, said in the words of Henry Ford. Henry Ford was born in Dearborn, Michigan on July 30, 1863. Henry’s mom and dad’s names were Mary Litgot and William Ford. William and Mary’s first child was a girl but did not live for more than a few hours. Ford was born next; he also had 5 other brother and sisters. They were John born in 1865, Margaret born in 1867, Jane born in 1869, William Jr. born in 1871, and Robert born in 1873. Shortly after Roberts birth Ford’s mother Mary, had passed in 1876. Ford was extremely upset but learned to live through it. Ford’s dad was the one to raise him. Ford attended school for two more years after his mother’s death and then walked nine miles to Detroit. When Ford left Detroit he had no money. Luckily he had family there to live with, so they let him get a job and start making money, then they would let him go. Ford then found a house that was $3.50 a month. He moved out of his family’s house as soon as he got the offer. Ford was now making $2.50 a day and was on his feet. Ford started thinking about transportation and asking questions. The method they used to get around was by horse. He had a shed in his back yard and started trying to make a vehicle based off steam. That didn’t go so well, because it would only go a few miles an hour, and was just so big! He then gave up for a while, and thought he would try again another time. In 1986 Ford met a girl named Clara Bryant. They “dated” for two years then got married. A few years after they got married they decided to have a kid, they waited five years and then had a boy. The boys’ name was Edsel Ford. Now Ford was ready to build a vehicle that would not run off steam, but gas. After a few years of trying to do this, Ford took his first ride in his “quadricycle” on January 4, 2008. Ford went into town with his car, and the people were speechless. Ford opened a company called “Detroit Automobile Company.”This company was very successful but not enough for ford. In 1908 the first Ford Motor Cars warehouse was created. In that same year Ford had invented his first car for sale, The Model T. The Model T had been sold for 19 years after that. But then Ford started making more luxury cars instead of really sturdy ones. He came out with the Model A and many more. Henry Ford had changed the world with his magnificent invention of the car. If we did not have Henry Ford only god knows where we would be. Henry Ford was a great man and a leader. He proved this statement by doing magnificent things, such as, the $5.00 day, the assembly line, and many more. Without Ford we would be mechanically lost. Henry Ford proved his mental abilities by taking interest in politics, mechanics, and invention of the car.
