My name is Alex Stringer and I am a recent edition to the wikipedia editing community. I am currently studing for my GCSE's at Lutterworth College. With the ambition of joining the RAF as an officer after completing my A-Levels in English, Mathamatics and Physics.
Interests
[edit]My main areas of interest are; Military, Science and Sports. Although I do enjoy watching team sports such as football and rugby, I prefer to play sports which I refer to as Interlectual. Sports such as judo and cricket which involve much more brains than brawn.
Contributions
[edit]My first edit on wikipedia was a youtube link (which was promptly removed my the copyright "bot") on the TAR-21. Since my trail by fire I have tried to make one or two contributions per day. Many of my recent edits have been on CERN's page with most being on the recent LHC activities.

 Tagging pages for problems
"Tags" are often used to indicate problems. Some Wikipedia editors object to the practice of tagging instead of fixing, but there is value in pointing out an article's problems. Tagging allows editors to specialize, teaches editors and warns readers about subpar or problematic content. It is better if people solve the problems they encounter themselves, but not everyone may be able to. Editors are sometimes obliged to justify inclusion of tags, such as in the case of Template:POV. Constructive criticism given in a civil, respectful manner is a vital part in a collaborative project like Wikipedia, and it should be welcomed rather than discouraged. Wikipedia values contributions from everyone—novices and experts alike. It is important to listen to readers who find an article biased, confusing or unconvincing.
