Liberty Island Magazine is an online fiction magazine with a focus on politically conservative fiction. Its CEO Adam Bellow is an editor at HarperCollins known for his conservative ideals. [1]

The National Review brought attention to the site and the cause of conservative fiction by publishing an essay by Bellow entitled "Let Your Right Brain Run Free".[2] The essay and the magazine have been criticized by left-leaning publications such as The Washington Post, [3][4] and while some conservative figures have expressed suppor,tCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). others have expressed reservations about the endeavor, noting that purely ideological fiction is not good fiction. [5][6]

While the site has primarily published short stories and the occasional essay, Liberty Island also began publishing novels in January 2015, beginning with Roy “Griff” Griffis’ The Big Bang,[7] the first in his Lonesome George series[8]. The Liberty Island team has ambitions to further expand their endeavors to other forms of media such as music and film.[9]
