adoption?

Just stopping by to say...
[edit]Thanks! I appreciate the input you left on the SOPA article talk page. Can't say I agree 100% with with everything you said, but then comments that totally agree with me aren't really helpful to me. Oh, and thanks for the barnstar, too -- haven't seen that one before. help me with a title?
[edit]I got the impression that you seemed to think the title that was there for the Lobbyist section was non-neutral. (think it was Lobbyists, campaign contributions and the revolving door). If so can you help me come up with one that is neutral for a section about lobbyists? Thanks Elinruby (talk) 02:05, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
adoption
[edit]I'm wondering if you have time to add an adoptee. Thank you. 180north (talk) 21:08, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Ha
[edit]Just got around to clicking that dragon link. Was thinking hmm we otter get together...
I'm sorry. :)
I just re-read one of the Xanth novels that Piers Anthony perpetrated back in the day, and it's affecting me, hehe.

- You should try reading the Spellsinger novels, when younger I thought they were far more hilarious and clever than Piers Anthony (who is also pretty entertaining, I'll admit). Sloggerbum (talk) 00:48, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, the Xanth books are pretty silly, but I thought they were hilarious at the time, and the punning is contagious, as we see. I am more of a Terry Pratchett fan, anymore. And a rabid George R. R. Martin fan* -- I inhaled his latest as soon as it came out. Spellsinger looks interesting. I don't think I have encountered those books, but I read a lot of the Flinx series by the same author at one point, and enjoyed them quite a bit as I recall.

Thank you very much for the cleanup.
[edit]Thanks for helping with that lede bit on sopa. I'm appalling at spelling and grammar, and have no intention of improving, as there are too many other languages out there which need attention, at many schools they just teach english and how to bark like a dog. :) anyhow I wrote an article for Global Blackout but I plagiarized most of it(from other articles) so the grammar is probably not too bad. I saw the story on the RT news site which I made a search template for, after I saw all their Mars 500 related stuff. It'd be good if there was less politics in the world and more spaceflight. It'd be cool to turn scifi into reality and make earth like dantooine or some such. *sigh* Anyhow, that little banner comes in handy ! Penyulap talk 20:55, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, that comment I put on the sopa page, there is a sentence where i put don't feed the trolls in the same sentence as you and it's not any kind of link I'm making. It's to do with the whole fauna thing, When I saw your designation I thought, yep that suits. but your even more endangered, as the only one ??? Penyulap talk 23:02, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:TaylorMH.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:TaylorMH.jpg, which you've sourced to INSUFFICIENT OTRS OVER 1 MONTH OLD. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en
wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 00:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Your invitation to participate in a Wikimedia-approved survey in online behavior.
[edit]Hello, my name is Michael Tsikerdekis[1][2], currently involved as a student in full time academic research at Masaryk University. I am writing to you to kindly invite you to participate in an online survey about interface and online collaboration on Wikipedia. The survey has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Research Committee.
I am contacting you because you were randomly selected from a list of active editors. The survey should take about 7 to 10 minutes to complete, and it is very straightforward.
Wikipedia is an open project by nature. Let’s create new knowledge for everyone! :-)
To take part in the survey please follow the link: tsikerdekis.wuwcorp.com/pr/survey/?user=41775266 (HTTPS).

File:A Watts.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:A Watts.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Non-free rationale for File:Schwarz06final.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Schwarz06final.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:17, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Sloggerbum. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.
If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.
If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui 雲水 09:20, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
