Spotted Atrocious are a five piece indie rock outfit from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Originally conceived as an acoustic project in 2006, the music quickly evolved into a unique blend of riff-rocking, chord smashing licks and thoughtful, theory-based melody. The group's music is said to be reminiscent of 50's and 60's style rock with a modern twist. Spotted Atrocious is maned by lead guitar/back up vocalist Liam Tinney, rhythm guitar/lead vocalist Ryan Warfield, synth/guitar/back up vocalist Mark Mullen, drummer Chris Hall, and bassist Mitchell Way.

History

Formed in the 2006 by guitar/vocalist Ryan Warfield and bassist Mitchell Way, Spotted Atrocious (the band) was originally foreseen as a method of delivering the social commentary of The Spotted Atrocious Militia. Soon after, the services of lead guitarist Liam Tinney were drafted. As Spotted Atrocious Militia and band melted into one, Hall and Mullen became the final pieces to the puzzle. Spotted Atrocious now operates at full strength. Spotted Atrocious plays in Greater Philadelphia and beyond. They are currently putting the final touches of their first EP titled A Beast Most Ferocious.

Musicianship

With song writing responsibilities taken on by all five members, the band is able to achieve a dynamic versatility that offers something for every taste in music. Between them they have almost 40 years of on stage performance, a degree in Classical Guitar from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Music from Mount Saint Mary's University. A high level of musicianship serves as an infinite resource for the band as each member posses the ability to play a multitude of instruments. The repertoire has been known to include everything from the bluegrass Mandolin to the Australian Didgeridoo.
