Jerald "Slash" Morgan, born April 24, 1974 in Houston,TX began his career professionally in 1993. After high school he pursued his dream to produce hip-hop, and R&B music for local Houston talent. In that same year he teamed up with artist Cedric Banks aka 2 Fancy and produced and wrote on the album entitled "Gangsta Mack" on the Label Dillinjah Records. The two became the most sought out group of that time locally. Continuing for success in 1995 "Slash" produced the hit single, "Tops Drop" for Houston based Artist Fat Pat. The song became known as a H-Town classic that can still be heard on national radio channels thoughout many Texas and Louisiana areas. In 1996 the Jive Label artist UGK sampled a portion of the 2nd verse from the song entitled "Elbows Swang" that created the hook on the song titled "Diamonds and Wood" written by Jerald Morgan, which would add to the success of the rap group Underground Kingz selling over 500,000 copies. By the year 1998, Slash included more skills to his resume doing studio work as an engineer for the likes of many Houston artist such as Big Mike former Geto Boy, Big Moe, Lil KeKe, Slim Thug, Hawk, Mr.32 and many more. Record Label owner Tony Draper of Suave House, would refer an out of state label to Slash for the Houston market sound which he is known to be a part of it's DNA. 2002 through 2004 Slash took a step back from the forefront of the industry to get more acquainted with the business side of music. Being a business owner, Slash founded the Slashtrax Publishing Lab company where he produces quality hip hop, R&B and even gospel music. Slash is also a founder of the From Tha Bottom organization and is also a co-owner. The organization consist of musicians, artist and fashion. Along with a business partner close friend and artist Harold Jamez , it was 2011 when the two would have there first song released on the Bungalo Records/Universal MGD and Universal Canada while still being independent. Another interesting fact, Jerald Morgan is the Grandson of New Orleans R&B Artist Robert Parker who created the 1966 hit single Barefootin'. Continuing a Legacy.........
