Silber Records was founded in 1995 (first release in 1996) by Brian John Mitchell as an extension of the zine QRD.

The music released by Silber Records has generally had a leaning towards guitar drones & sound experiments, but has occasionally delved into singer-songwriter oriented works as well.

It's artist roster has included Lycia, Alan Sparhawk, If Thousands, Jamie Barnes, Aarktica, Remora, Small Life Form, Kobi, Origami Arktika, Hotel Hotel, Northern Valentine, Carta, Sarah June, Clang Quartet, Rollerball, Vlor, Plumerai, & many more.
