Jon 'Mojo' Mills is the founder and editor-in-chief of Shindig! Magazine. He was born on December 8th 1970 in the small village of Landford on the edge of the New Forest. As a child he fell in love with music and gravitated to the ’60s music and style of the Mod movement before succumbing to psychedelia and Garage rock. After dabbling with acting as a teenager the idea of playing in a band took over and Mills, along with a select gang of Salisbury based youths, formed the ’60s styled garage band The Nuthins [1] in 1989. Through touring and gigging with the group and meeting "garage fanatics" across Europe he decided to create a fanzine to embrace what was coined "The International Garage Scene". Over time the Gravedidgger publication improved and grew into Shindig! Magazine whilst he was studying Film & Communication & Cultural Studies at the [University of North London]]. Mills has remained living in North London ever since. He lives in Hornsey with his partner, daughter and dog. Mills has written numerous liner notes for all manner of record labels, penned a column for Record Collector magazine, before his daily duties on Shindig! became too much. He also broadcasts on Soho Radio.
