Sathiss Rajaan-Duriem Martin Jr. (born May 6th, 2006) known professionally as Romance For Madness is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Grand Junction, Colorado. After the breakthrough of his single Favorite Child, Martin would be signed to a joint deal with Roc Nation and Kemosabe Records.
Early Life
[edit]Godpluto was born Sathiss Rajaan-Duriem Martin Jr. was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica on May 6th, 2006. He is the son of Jamaican and Dominican parents and he would often move around the country due to his father's employment as a pilot in the Air Force. He has four older sisters, Danielle, Khadijah, Bianca and Marissa and two older brothers, Jeremy and Travis.
At the age of 14, Martin would lose his father to lung cancer. He moved to Grand Junction, Colorado at the age of 17, where he would graduate from graduate from Fruita Monument High School. Martin has spoken on his fathers passing stating “My dad being gone is probably one of the largest if not the largest reason I do this shit. I don’t know if he would approve or if he’d be proud but I know he’d be happy to see my pursuing what I love. That’s why I’m still here.” Martin originally sought after a career in the NFL up until his sophomore year where he started to take music for serious.
Musical style and influences
[edit]Martin has cited his biggest inspirations as Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, XXXTentacion, Future, $not, Bryson Tiller and has claimed the song, make up by Poorstacy is what inspired him to make music. He grew up listening to a variety of artists and genres, including but not limited to, dancehall, hip hop, R&B, trap among others. He has also claimed his father's favorite artists were Ashanti and Kanye West.
