Joseph Hagedorn is an American classical guitarist. He is a founding member of and arranger for the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet and music educator at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Educational Career

Born in Iowa, Hagedorn earned his Bachelor of Music Degree from Cornell College and later completed a Master of Music Degree at the University of Minnesota,training under Richard Stratton, Christopher Carrington, Nelson Amos and Jeffrey Van. He began teaching at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1988[1].

Hagedorn makes many visits with the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet to elementary and secondary schools, where he performs and answers student questions.[2]

Mineapolis Guitar Quartet

In 1986, Hagedorn co-founded the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet which he continues to perform with. As a member of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, He has toured across many of the United States, written dozens of quartet arrangements, appeared on Twin Cities Public Television [3] and performed on five full-length records.,[4]

Awards

In 1990, Hagedorn placed 1st in the Guitar Foundation of America solo competition which was held in Pasadena, California.[5]
