![]() | Evaluate an article
Complete your article evaluation below. Here are the key aspects to consider: Lead sectionA good lead section defines the topic and provides a concise overview. A reader who just wants to identify the topic can read the first sentence. A reader who wants a very brief overview of the most important things about it can read the first paragraph. A reader who wants a quick overview can read the whole lead section.
ContentA good Wikipedia article should cover all the important aspects of a topic, without putting too much weight on one part while neglecting another.
Tone and BalanceWikipedia articles should be written from a neutral point of view; if there are substantial differences of interpretation or controversies among published, reliable sources, those views should be described as fairly as possible.
Sources and ReferencesA Wikipedia article should be based on the best sources available for the topic at hand. When possible, this means academic and peer-reviewed publications or scholarly books.

Overall impressions
Examples of good feedbackA good article evaluation can take a number of forms. The most essential things are to clearly identify the biggest shortcomings, and provide specific guidance on how the article can be improved. |
Which article are you evaluating?
[edit]Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?
[edit]Nowadays Tesla motors is very famous for the lineup of their electric cars. Electric cars have lower overall emissions but there are a lot of environmental impacts that get ignored.
Evaluate the article
[edit]The article starts by explaining what an electric car is and gives a good comparison with combustion engine.
An electric car, battery electric car, or all-electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using only energy stored in batteries. Compared to internal combustion engine(ICE) vehicles, electric cars are quieter, have no exhaust emissions, and lower emissions overall.
It also discusses the rise in the worldwide sales of electric vehicles. Then it goes on covering reducing air pollution. But it lacks evidences of how much air pollution is reduced with electric cars.
Article is broken down into various sections
- Terminology
- History
- Economics
- Environmental Aspects
- Performance
- Energy Efficiency
- Safety
- Controls
- Batteries
- Currently available electric cars
- Government polices and incentives
- EV plans from major manufactures
- Forecasts
I think there are a few missing pieces here in the structure
- What are the environmental impacts to build batteries?
- More electricity is needed we can have a forecast sub section on increased usage as we are seeing over the years as more and more EV's are coming?
This article is also very biased towards more usage of electric cars. It lacks a perspective on impacts on mining resources. This article is also biased towards developed nations and claims that electric cars are cheaper. But what about electric cars in 3rd world countries?
There are many references to government reports, organization audits and transport departments. But feels like this article is only covering North American and European markets and does not have much resources on Asian, South America, Australia and Africa. The increasing usage just really refers to increased usage in a developed countries.
There are many countries with high population what is done there? Are the cars cheaper to afford?
Recent talks does not have any active tasks to update it and was last updated in 2018.
