Karthik Ram is a research scientist at the University of California - Berkley's Institute for Data Science[1] and also a post-doc member Berkley's Initiative for Global Change Biology[2]. Ram's work primarily focuses on ecological communities, data science and open science software.

Career

Karthik Ram is currently a research scientist at UC Berkley for both the Institute for Data Science[1] and the Berkley Initiative for Global Change Biology[2]. Ram is a founding member and editor for the Journal of Open Source Software[3]. He is also the Co-Founder of the rOpenSci, which makes open and reproducible research in R[4]. He also a member of the peer-review and editorial staff for the rOpenSci Software Review[5]. Ram is the principal investigator and lead for the URSSI, a research software sustainability institute[6]. Karthik Ram is also a editorial board member of ReScience[7] and Research Ideas and Outcomes[8], which both focus on open research.
