J. T. Ross Jackson (born 1938 in Ontario, Canada) is an author, ecovillage pioner and business entrepreneur, currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ross' undergraduate degree was in Engineering Physics in Canada, followed by a Master's degree in Industrial Management at Purdue University and a PhD in Operations Research, at Case Western Reserve University in the USA.
Born a Canadian, moved to Denmark in 1964, married the danish woman Hildur Jackson in 1967, and became a Danish citizen in 1972.
In 1971 he founded SimCorp, which is today a global financial software company listed on the NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange. In 1988, he founded the first international hedge fund dealing exclusively with interbank currency trading. In 1987 he co-founded Gaia Trust, a Danish-based charitable entity, whose charter is to promote a more sustainable and spiritual world. Ross is presently the chairman of Gaia Trust.
