Rod W. Peters is an award-winning Executive Producer with a commitment towards creating and producing compelling, relevant and profitable film and television projects.

In the documentary genre, Peters’ film Coming Home: Hurricane Katrina 5 Years Later airs on NBC fall 2010. This film is slated to be narrated by celebrity actor Blair Underwood and is the winner of THE DeROSE HINKHOUSE AWARD for excellence.

In addition, Peters’ Indonesia-based documentary Kepulihan: Stories from the Tsunami has been screened at the Carter Center in Atlanta Georgia and had the distinguished honor of being selected by the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site as part of its D.R.E.A.M Film Series (Developing Racial Equality through Art and Music). Kepulihan was recently selected by ABC for broadcast in fall 2010 and was an official selection at the PHUKET FILM FESTIVAL.  

With regards to his television and film projects, Peters secured the ‘option & purchase’ rights to a best-selling book series and has retained the services of acclaimed screenwriter Ron Friedman, creator of GI Joe and Transformers, to write the screenplay. In turn, Friedman extended a partnership offer for Peters to executive produce an animated television project created by Friedman and Hollywood legend Stan Lee, creator of Spiderman and Iron Man.

Moreover, Peters is the Co-Creator and Executive Producer, along with veteran actor Tommy Ford (“Martin”, “Harlem Nights”, and “Who’s Got Jokes”) and Emmy Award-winning writer Michael Ajakwe Jr (“Martin”, “Living Single”, The Parkers”, “Moesha”, and “Sister, Sister”), of a scripted television sitcom to be distributed by a major network.

Having began his career as a chart-topping recording artist/producer with RCA Records, Rod subsequently joined the corporate marketing team at Showtime Networks/Viacom in 1998 where he developed and executed numerous campaigns across Showtime’s VOD (video on demand), PPV (pay per view), and cable platforms, including The Movie Channel, FLIX, and Sundance Channel.

Rod holds a B.A. degree in Journalism/Marketing from Georgia State University as well as a Masters degree in Psychological Studies from Richmont Graduate University.
