This page is meant as an attempt to provide a sourced and annotated list of significant accomplishments which are attributed to the Democratic Party (United States). The inspiration for this wiki comes from two Daily Kos postings by Delaware Dem and RadicalRuss, both circa 2005. The following list is provided in a arguably subjective order of magnitude, as opposed to being ordered chronologically.

Social Security was initially signed into law by FDR in 1935.

Medicare was first passed on July 30, 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson as amendments to Social Security legislation, in order to provide health insurance to people ages 65 and older.

Medicaid was created on July 30, 1965 through Title XIX of the Social Security Act, to provide health insurance to low-income parents, children, seniors, and people with disabilities

GI Bill was created in 1944 under FDR in order to provide veterans with loans, schooling and unemployment compensation.

Endangered Species Act was passed by congress in 1973 in order to strengthen the Endangered Species Conservation Act of 1969.
