EdXact is a supplier of software used for the design and the verification of integrated circuits, electronic design automation software EDA. EdXact is headquartered in Grenoble, France.

History

[edit]

EdXact was founded to address one of a major problems in circuit design and verification: the accrued number of layout parasitics, which slows down simulation tools to the point that they are unexploitable in certain cases. EdXact started to implement engineering solutions based on a vast number of publications in control theory, addressing exactly this linear type of problem.[1] [2] [3]

2004, EdXact was incorporated.[4]

2005, EdXact introduced the first products to the design community. [5]

2005, EdXact raises seed funds among french VC's. [6]

2007, EdXact arrives in Japan and Korea. [7] [8]

2010, EdXact is one of about a dozen companies to be integrated into TSMC's first reference flow for analog and mixed signal design at 28nm [9]

Products

[edit]

EdXact proposes tools that help reducing the burden of layout parasitics (see Parasitic_extraction) on simulation and analysis of circuit behaviour (see SPICE).

  • Jivaro is a netlist reduction tool based on Model Order Reduction. Two major versions exit:
  • Jivaro A - for spice-like netlists (formats supported: SPICE, SPECTRE)
  • Jivaro D - for dspf/spef-like netlists (formats supported: DSPF,SPEF)
  • Comanche is an analysis tool dedicated to layout parasitics. The tool allows to carry out electrical verifications on layout level much faster than with a spice tool.
  • Tumba is the tight integration of Comanche into SpringSoft's layout design environment LAKER.
