Veev is a technology-driven panelized construction company specializing in advanced, prefabricated building systems. The company developed a proprietary construction platform that integrates digital manufacturing with sustainable materials to streamline home construction, enhance precision, and reduce environmental impact.[1]
History
[edit]Veev was founded in 2008 with the goal of modernizing homebuilding through a panelized construction approach.[2] Its proprietary system manufactured walls off-site in a controlled environment, pre-assembled with integrated mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire safety systems to reduce labor, time, and waste.[3]
In 2020, Veev secured $75 million in funding from LenX, the venture arm of Lennar, one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S.[4] In 2022, the company was valued at over $1 billion following a $400 million Series D funding round.[5]
In 2023, Lennar acquired Veev’s assets, integrating the company’s modular platform into its own operations to enhance scalable, resilient construction solutions.[6][7] Analysts noted that this move allowed Lennar to scale innovation using Veev's experience and technology. Development of the modular platform continues under Lennar’s internal teams.[8]
Technology and Innovation
[edit]Veev’s technology centers on a proprietary panelized building system, which includes cold-formed steel framing and high-performance acrylic finishes. Using digital fabrication, 3D design files are converted into building components via Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery.[9]
The company holds multiple patents, including prefabricated wall assemblies that incorporate MEP systems into a single unit. Among its most notable innovations is a patented multi-head fire sprinkler system that allows a single conduit to serve multiple rooms, improving efficiency and reducing component count.[10]
According to a 2023 Forbes report, Veev’s construction method reduces embodied carbon by 50% and construction waste by 89% compared to traditional homebuilding methods.[11]
