About Me

[edit]

I am currently enrolled at a local community college, working on a business degree. I enjoy music of every genre, some of my favorite bands/musicians being Hollywood Undead, Disturbed, Paul Shapera[1] and Mike Shinoda. I enjoy the paranormal, as well as the extraterrestrial and cryptozoological. Other things about me: I grow my own mint plants ( I currently have Peppermint, Spearmint and Chocolate-mint, which you have to be very careful with because Chocolate Mint can spread like a weed if not kept under control[2]) and I am a certified minister

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

I have been using Wikipedia for as long as I can remember. Thanks to the great volunteers that help fill this site with information, i was saved from many long hours on history research projects for school. I now hope to be able to help as well. I want to start the process of making pages for newer/not well known musicians as a way to help get their names out there. Bands and Musicians like Siamés, Paul Shapera and Citizen Soldier, who are all extremely talented, yet don't have the recognition they deserve. I haven't yet made any articles, but I plan to in the future.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

The rap/rock band Hollywood Undead has been my favorite band for a long time. I have watched every interview and listened to every song by them. I believe they are an absolutely amazing band and I believe their Wikipedia page should match. When I visited the Hollywood Undead page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: incorrect grammar, missing and incorrect information and irrelevant sections.

Incorrect Grammar

[edit]

I understand that grammar can be a difficult subject for people to understand, but when you are completely leaving out words or adding in punctuation where it does not belong then that's when a problem forms. When you carefully read through the Hollywood Undead article you will find that they forgot basic words such as the words on, the, to and of. All while adding in an overabundance of commas to create run-on sentences.

Missing and Incorrect Information

[edit]

As I was reading the article I noticed plenty of missing and incorrect information in it. The article is missing Hollywood Undeads latest album, New Empire Vol. 1, from its album list. It also got the date of departure wrong for one of Hollywood Undeads members. The article says that the member Shady Jeff left in 2007 when in all actuality he left in 2006[3]. The article also got a very important bit of information wrong, how Hollywood Undead got their name. In an interview with Rock.com, members Charlie Scene and J-Dog explain how they actually decided on their band name[4]. The article also completely leaves out the former band member The Phantasm[5].

Irrelevant Sections

[edit]

While the article is missing some pretty important bits of information, it also has some completely irrelevant pieces of information as well. It talks about how before he even joined the band, member Danny had auditioned for American Idol, he didn't even actually perform on the show, all he did was try out. The article mentions every single band that Hollywood Undead toured with between 2005 and 2010, which is a completely unneeded list of bands since they toured with a lot of different bands during those five years.

Summary

[edit]

Overall, I'd give this article a 6.5/10. While it does have some good information and plenty of details about their different albums and well as having plenty of citations, it has just got a lot wrong as well. Its got quite the number of grammar mistakes, as well as a lot of unneeded information. Plus with the number of factual mistakes and full-on chunks of important information missing, there is no way this article could be given a perfect score. I think with some basic grammar check and a bit of fact-checking, this article could become a great article.

Thank You for visiting my page, have a wonderful day.
