OntologyBot is designed to retrieve backlinks to specific Wikipedia articles using the MediaWiki API. It operates in read-only mode and will not make any edits to Wikipedia pages. Results will be stored locally and not posted back to Wikipedia without permission.

Operation

The bot uses the `list=backlinks` API endpoint to gather backlinks.

Requests are made with `bllimit=500` (authenticated).

It respects Wikipedia’s rate limits by implementing delays between requests.

All research results will be freely shared with the Wikimedia Foundation upon request.
