Savely Timofeevich Dmitriev (Russian: Саве́лий Тимофе́евич Дми́триев) (1909 – 25 August 1950) was gefreiter of the 1st Anti-Aircraft regiment of the Red Army. He is known for firing a rifle at car which carried Minister of Foreign Trade Anastas Mikoyan on 6 November 1942. Dmitriev was executed in 1950 after long investigation.

Early life

Savely Dmitriev was born in 1909 in Ust-Kamenogorsk into a well-off peasant family. Young Dmitriev was forced to renounce his father, an Old Believer priest during anti-religious campaign in 1930s.^[1] He finished only first grade of elementary school
