Victoria and Jacob (formed 2008) are an English electronic pop band from London and Cambridge. They are currently signed to Fika Recordings.

Background

The band consists of Victoria Harrison (Songwriter, vocalists and producer) and Jacob Mayfield (Programmer, keyboardists, guitarists and producer). Victoria and Jacob are notable for their ethereal dream pop [1] sound.

The band have shared the stage with Mystery Jets, Big Deal, The History of Apple Pie, Lucy Rose and Summer Camp.

The band released a 7" EP "With No Certainty" with indie label Voga parochia to positive press in Artrocker [2] and was song of the day in The Line Of Best Fit [3] The label was also home to Bella Union band Landshapes (formerly Lulu and the Lampshades who are most known for their single "Cups (You're Gonna Miss Me)" [4]. Their single "Festival" was released on 7" in May 2013 on WIAIWYA and Fika Recordings.

They’ve received radio play from Steve Lamacq, Jon Hillcock and Chris Hawkins and garnered critical acclaim from NME, Artrocker and Time Out and have had their music used for a Japanese Vogue web campaign.

The band have been compared with The xx [5], Lykke Li and Stevie Nicks.

Their debut album is out 5 August 2013 on WIAIWYA and Fika Recordings

Victoria (Vicky Harrison) has also collaborated with drum and bass producers Von D and Frederic Robinson. Jacob Mayfield also goes by the name Yukka and produces Electronica and Chillwave.
