![]() | Evaluate an article
Complete your article evaluation below. Here are the key aspects to consider: Lead sectionA good lead section defines the topic and provides a concise overview. A reader who just wants to identify the topic can read the first sentence. A reader who wants a very brief overview of the most important things about it can read the first paragraph. A reader who wants a quick overview can read the whole lead section.
ContentA good Wikipedia article should cover all the important aspects of a topic, without putting too much weight on one part while neglecting another.
Tone and BalanceWikipedia articles should be written from a neutral point of view; if there are substantial differences of interpretation or controversies among published, reliable sources, those views should be described as fairly as possible.
Sources and ReferencesA Wikipedia article should be based on the best sources available for the topic at hand. When possible, this means academic and peer-reviewed publications or scholarly books.
Organization and writing qualityThe writing should be clear and professional, the content should be organized sensibly into sections.

Which article are you evaluating?
[edit]History of hospitals - Wikipedia
Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?
[edit]I chose this article because firstly, it was a C class article and secondly I was curious about what a "hospital" was. For example, the idea of hospitals has always been around if you consider someone nursing people in their own home a hospital itself. Now, I'm learning that there is a definition of what a hospital is.
Evaluate the article
[edit]The lead section is a good size and provides a great introduction to the rest of the article. It provides a good general summary of when hospitals came about and what a hospital is.
As far as the content goes there is a suitable amount of information and it is also broken into good topics. The article goes through the centuries and then within those centuries it is broken down into countries and provides information on each unique region. This provides a steady process of reading and doesn't confuse the readers as to what is being displayed.
Looking through the talk page I found a comment about citation. In the lead section and in the following section on Antiquity there are a few words that were labeled as "citation needed". This seems to be an occurring theme throughout the talk page as people notice and believe that there should be more citations. This is definitely something that needs to be improved.
Other than citations and checking some information here and there the article is overall strong and presents solid information. It was rated High-Importance within the scope of Wiki Project Hospitals and does a good job.
