Aleksandar Savanović is a full time professor of political theory at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Banja Luka.[1] He has authored five books to date: Theory of the Republic[2] (2019, second edition 2022), Political Doctrines[3] (2021), Anarcho-Capitalism[4](2011, second edition 2016), The Open Society as Idea, Ideology, and Political Practice[5] (2014), and The Ethics of Innocence: A Critique of Christianity in the Philosophy of F. Nietzsche[6] (2008). In addition to his books, he has published dozens of scholarly articles in academic and professional publications both domestically and internationally. His primary areas of academic interest include contractualism, constitutionalism, liberalism, and related fields.
Alongside his academic work in political theory, Savanović has also been active in practical politics. He is the founder and first director of the Political Academy of the Serb Democratic Party. He served two terms as an advisor to the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He holds the title of International Chess Master and has achieved notable results in international competitions, including: MINAS Open, Novi Sad (Serbia), 1993 (1st place); Agios Kirikos, Ikaria (Greece), 1999 (1st place)[7]; Paolo Szabados Memorial, Venice (Italy), 2017 (1st place); 25th Autunno Scacchistico Veneziano, Venice (Italy), 2018 (1st–2nd place)[8]; Pasqua di Palmanova, 2023 (Italy) (1st place)[9]; and the New York IM Invitational, 2024 (1st–2nd place),[10] among others.
