The Dangerous Aces are a Punk Rock band from Manchester, United Kingdom.
They formed in late 2005.
The band took their name from a South African football team who have since changed their name to The Dangerous Darkies; the band have announced that they will not be following suit and are happy to remain as The Dangerous Aces. The band have also denied that the choice of name was a "pathetic attempt" to get a support slot with the Kaiser Chiefs.

History
[edit]They played their first gig at Manchester's Tiger Lounge at the famous Fiction Non Fiction night (several bands for free every Tuesday and still going strong), they played a brief set of just 6 songs, which delighted those present and had them demanding more. After playing a similar set for That's Not Skanking, they landed a prime slot at Manchester's prominent Voodoo club, this time banging out a whole 10 songs and have been going from strength to strength since.
In the first 12 months they have played with local heroes such as Kid Voodoo, Revenge Of The Psychotronic Man, Kamikaze Sperm, The Kirkz, and Pendleton, as well as supporting The Blunts at their album launch, and playing with Psychobilly legends Demented Are Go.
Their sound is very much Street Punk based, but with a nod to their Rock'n'Roll roots and even the occasional ska-like upstroke.
