Association of Women on Campus at The University of Melbourne (AWCUM) is a professional network that promotes and maintains a strong support network for all female University of Melbourne staff.
Open to both academic and professional staff, the group:
- Provides high quality seminars and workshops to improve and enhance professional skills
- Provides a platform for women's issues in the workplace and its changing environment
- Encourages friendship and generates a strong network for women across the University
- Supports the activities of the Fairness and Diversity Unit and the Affirmative Action Program at the University.
Professor Margaret Sheil has been AWCUM Patron since 2012.[1]
Members can:
- Access members-only events and social activities throughout the year
- Meet, network and learn with other women at the University
- Open to all female staff members at the University of Melbourne
- Support and recognise the talents of University of Melbourne women, through our award and our network
AWCUM Prize
[edit]The AWCUM Prize is an annual award made to the top student in a gender, indigenous and/or diversity related second year Faculty of Arts subject selected by AWCUM that aligns with our objectives. AWCUM's objectives are to promote and maintain a strong support network for all women employed by the University of Melbourne - both academic and professional staff.[2]
