Kings Charter is a planned unit development that straddles the boundaries of Ashland, Virginia and Mechanicsville, Virginia both within the boundaries of Hanover County, Virginia and a suburb of Richmond, Virginia. Accessed primarily by way of exit 86 A Interstate 95 in Virginia, the community contains retail, residential, and light commercial properties.

[edit]Some of the retail and commercial properties lie within zip code for Ashland, Virginia (23005) while all the residential property lies within the zip code for Mechanicsville (23116). There is a variety of shopping and retail establishments including a Food Lion grocery, numerous restaurants from fast food to ethnic dining, banks, and independent retail stores. All residential property consists of single family homes.
