- Community consensus is clearly that allowing advertisements to be on Wikipedia would be detrimental to the project's goals of non-profit educational service, factual accuracy, and neutrality. It is important for such a critical issue, that we have a statement of community position regarding reasons why we choose not to publish advertisements for cash here.
- The essay Wikipedia:Advertisements is total garbage, and gives enormously too much weight to the "Arguments for advertising". Wikipedia:Advertisements portrays things as if the two positions are almost equally reasonable and widely accepted. The community consensus is overwhelmingly that we shouldn't have ads. Thus, this article should consist overwhelmingly of the reasons why we shouldn't have ads, and the debunking of the feeble and short-sighted arguments for why we should.
- So go through the past discussion here, and try to put something better together. Then get rid of the garbage at WP:Advertisements, and replace it.
