Serano Systems Corporation was founded in January 1997 by Joe Edens (CEO), John Ives (VP Marketing & Business Development), Ash Ashutosh (VP Software Engineering) and Mark Jander (VP Hardware Engineering). All four founders left Symbios Logic to start the company as a semiconductor and embedded firmware design center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company was acquired by Vitesse Semiconductor Corp in January 1999.
