[1] Joe La Truite are a Progressive Psychedelic Punk-Metal music band from Aix-en-Provence and Marseille in the south of France. The band’s sound is impulsive, ultra-efficient, Psychedelic Punk-Metal music, and each song is a progressive journey.
Beginning as a bit of fun in 2017, Joe La Truite released two EP's, [2] River Metal in 2017 and duel artist EP Just A Little Thing Smooth and Wet in 2019 in conjunction with French band Sendwood who also added four track to that release. Joe La Truite's founding members, Julien Liphard (Guitars/Vocals) and Charles Roussel (Bass/Vocals), met current drummer Martin Denquin in late 2019. Joe La Truite went on to write, record and self-release their debut album [3] Trapped In The Cosmos in 2020.
In 2022 the members of Joe La Truite met Australia's Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).[4] Blue Tongue Management and signed a management deal mid-2024[5]. Trapped In The Cosmos was originally never exploited outside of a few local French media outlets.[6] Aux Ports Du Metal review and [7] Ekelktic Rock Review. Blue Tongue Management remedied this and successfully picked up rotation airplay on multiple syndicated Metal music programs worldwide, which helped pave the way for the band's new music, set for release in 2025.
Blue Tongue Management partnered Joe La Truite with [8] SLH Agency PR from France, [9] Metal Devastation PR in the USA, and [10]Rola Music from Austria and Germany in preperation for the release of the new 13 track album titled Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen, recorded at [11]dBd Studio’s in La Barben in the south of France.
The band was signed to Full Zguen Records [12] in December 2024, and on March 1st, 2025, Joe La Truite launched their first video single from the album, Bad Death City [13]. This was followed by the release of the second video single, Light Speed, on April 11th [14]. Both songs marked a bold step forward in songwriting and musicianship from their previous releases. The new tracks showcase the band's evolution and cement their place in the underground music scene, earning solid media critique along with further well-supported airplay.
With the album, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen, in store 13th June 2025, Joe La Truite’s third single [15]“Octogone 8000”, was unleashed on the 16th May 2025 and continued to expand the lore of Joe La Truite’s 2025 release, which is an epic tale of cosmic characters in an adventurous gaming world living somewhere in the Cosmos… or is it somewhere near Marseille?
Joe La Truite is becoming known for their genre-bending style and tongue-in-cheek storytelling. They deliver a mind-melting fusion of punk, metal, and psychedelic lunacy.
