Appearance
S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 B is an F-box protein in the Skp, Cullin, F-box containing complex. SKP2B binds with other proteins in the cell, allowing the rest of the SCF-complex to ubiquitin the target. It is a splice variant of SKP2.
Function
[edit]Oncogene
[edit]Although a SKP2-specific and a SKP2B-specific antibody have since been developed, previous antibodies bound to all isoforms of SKP2. Therefore, previous studies noted elevated SKP2 levels, but did not differentiate between SKP2A and SKP2B.
Interactions
