Introduction

spotlight™ launched their flagship rechargeable LED light at the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to critical acclaim (Best In-Car Accessory - Runner Up).

spotlight™ is an subsidiary of Weiguo Solutions, based in Boise, Idaho. They also have offices in Hong Kong and Zhuhai, China. Their main product are rechargeable LED flashlights and related accessories. The company was founded in 2007 by William Reimann and Yvonne Guo. Their main markets are located in United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Also SpotlightTM has an active community of members spread out around the world that can be reached through its website.

Technology

The battery is a 3.6-volt 80 milliamp-hour (mAh) nickel metal hydride unit ^[1]

When I connected the spotlight to my laboratory power supply it drew 7mA from 12 volts. Cranking the voltage to 13.8V, which is what the spotlight will see when the car's engine is running the alternator, upped the current draw to 11mA.
