The Nike Pro Hijab was created as a reach for inclusivity for Muslim athletes. [1] The issue with traditional hijabs is that if the fabric is too heavy then is causes too much sweating if the fabric is too light then the hijab may fall off. This particular product was created after executives met with weightlifter Amna Al Haddad in 2016. Nike Pro Hijab was made from light weight-breathable material that absorbs moisture. Manal Rostom who is a Nike athlete stated, "I'm athletic, I'm outspoken, I'm empowered by a big company...I'm representing what a Muslim woman can be."[2]
