Pare Chocs

The Pare Chocs committee is a non-profit group that advocates for the abolition of Electroconvulsive_therapy(ECT) in Québec.

The Pare Chocs committee believes that the medical procedure of ECT^[1] harms patients instead of helping, and is a violation of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms ^[2] of many of the patient that receive it.

History

Pare Choc started the campaign to abolish electroshock in Québec , in the year 2005.

Activities and publications

The Pare Choc committee performs an annual protest in May to raise public awareness about electroshock in Québec.

The Pare Choc committee produces a publication 3 to 4 times a year concerning the current news and events about electroshock.

The Pare chocs commite has published eleven papers so far, they are titled " INFO CHOQUÉE "
