This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). The Get Quick
[edit]
The Get Quick is a musical combo based in Philadelphia.
Their approach has been described as “sounding something like a cross between garage bands of the 1980s and modern twenty-first century pop.”[1] With songs “wrapped in a fizzy soda pop sheen.”[2]
AllMusic said "Philadelphia's garage-glammers the Get Quick recreate the muddy sparkle, fuzzy basses, machine-gun guitars, and cracked tunesmithery of the Nuggets bands, updated with the knowing wink of Urge Overkill or Sloan."[3]
Their albums How The Story Goes[4] and See You In The Crossfire[5] were released in 2005 and 2007 respectively by New York City based Rainbow Quartz International.[6] With Stewart Mason[7] writing "Every song on How the Story Goes is a winner, and the album as a whole is one of the most entertaining underground pop releases of 2005."[8] Popmatters summed up its review of Crossfire with "It’s a strut and a shimmy and a wink of the eye all at the once, and if you don’t feel it on some level, you’ve forgotten how to love rock and roll."[9]
In 2025 various selections from their back catalogue became available on multiple streaming services.
