Ellen Murray (1847 - 1929) was British nurse, and the first nurse with a formal qualification to work at Mitford and Launditch Union Workhouse Infirmary (now Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse).[1] She was one of the nurses researched for and featured in a 2024 exhibition at the museum based on workhouse nurses.[2]

Ellen Murray was the eldest surviving daughter of James Murray and Rebecca Brining, born in 1847 in Prescot, Lancashire.
